Children’s Ministry
Childrens Ministry (Dave Brackenridge)
Within the church we have a Junior Sunday School (for children aged between 3-7) and a Senior Sunday School (for children aged between 8 and 12). The Sunday School leaves half way through the Family Service each Sunday and divide into their various groups where Bible teaching on topics and Bible Characters is brought to them at their own level, which includes interactive activities, games and crafts.
The Sunday School is led by a good group of committed Christians who desire to see young children committing their lives to Jesus Christ.
7- 11 Club (Dorothy Gebbie)
The 7-11 Club is a very popular club with children aged between seven and eleven years of age who live in the local area. It runs in the church each Wednesday evening between 7.00pm and 8.30pm during the school term. Our evenings consist of teaching the children a memory verse from the Bible, stories told from the Bible in a fun and interesting way, completing worksheets, playing games (both clean and messy!!), and taking part in craft activities, and let’s not forget the all important tuck shop. The entry fee is 50p per week plus 50p for tuck shop.
From the 50 pence’s that the children bring each week we have been able over the years to send money to projects both at home and abroad, on the whole which impact on the lives of children. This has included projects in Bolivia, Zambia, Yorkhill Children’s hospital, St Andrew’s Hospice and CHAS.
The leaders of the 7-11 Club are:Dave Brackenridge, Dianne Finnie, Dorothy Gebbie, Colin Gillespie, Christina Laird, Jillian Reid and Ewan Speedie.
Crèche (Joyce Smith)
This takes place during the Sunday morning services for families with babies and young children up to the age of three years old. There are baby changing facilities in the toilets on the ground floor of the church.
